How It Started

NxtLayer IT didn't start with a business plan. It started with a frustration. After years of working inside Microsoft environments — managing M365 tenants, deploying Intune across hundreds of endpoints, building Zero Trust architectures from scratch — the same story kept repeating itself:

Mid-size businesses were getting left behind. Their IT providers were generalists who resold licenses and called it "managed services." Their Microsoft environments were misconfigured, underutilized, and quietly vulnerable. And when something went wrong, the response was slow, expensive, and reactive.

The Problem We Saw

The mid-market IT gap is real. Companies with 25–200 employees are too large to ignore security and compliance — they handle real client data, face real threats, and operate under real regulatory pressure. But they're too small to build and staff an enterprise IT team.

The providers serving them are mostly generalists. They know a little of everything and a lot of nothing specific. They sell M365 licenses without configuring them. They install Defender without tuning it. They talk about Zero Trust but can't implement it.

The result is companies that think they're protected when they're not. Law firms with no DLP policies. Healthcare practices with no PHI controls. Financial firms with no communication archiving. All of them one phishing email away from a serious problem.

NxtLayer exists to close that gap — with deep Microsoft expertise, a security-first delivery model, and a commitment to the vertical industries where the stakes are highest.

Why Microsoft Only

Most MSPs sell multi-vendor stacks. They patch together tools from different vendors, manage the integrations, and bill you for the complexity they create.

We made a different choice. NxtLayer runs entirely on the Microsoft platform. Azure, M365, Intune, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID — one stack, one vendor, one deep expertise. Not because it's easier, but because it's better for mid-market clients.

When your security stack is all Microsoft, it talks to itself. Defender feeds Sentinel. Intune enforces Conditional Access. Purview sees the data that Defender protects. The integrations work because they were designed to work together — and we know how to unlock every connection in that platform.

Depth beats breadth. Always. That is the technical foundation this company is built on.

The Autobots Engine

Every client engagement teaches us something. Every assessment reveals a pattern. Every onboarding surfaces a repeatable workflow. Most companies let that knowledge walk out the door with their consultants.

We built Autobots to capture it. Autobots is NxtLayer's proprietary AI intelligence engine — built on Azure OpenAI and Microsoft's own tooling. It automates the proposal generation, environment discovery, compliance documentation, and project intelligence that most IT companies still do by hand.

For our clients, this means faster delivery, lower costs, and more consistent outcomes. For NxtLayer, it means every engagement makes the engine smarter. By the time we've worked with 50 clients, our AI understands Microsoft environments better than any generic tool available.

Autobots isn't a product we sell. It's how we operate. And in Year 2, we'll offer it as a licensed capability to MSP partners who want to deliver what we deliver — without building what we've already built.

We serve clients remotely across the US. Our cloud-first delivery model means geography is never a barrier. A law firm in Phoenix gets the same quality of environment, the same security posture, and the same onboarding experience as one in Chicago or Austin.

But Phoenix is home. Our first clients will be here. Our referral network starts here. And the community of businesses we build — starting with legal firms on Camelback and healthcare practices in Scottsdale — is the foundation everything else is built on.
